Technical Requirement and Product Safety System is intended of legalizing technical regulations, conformity evaluation procedures, standardization and work safety, in order to protect health and life of employee and other consumers, in accordance with the law in force.
The Technical requirement institution is concentrating more in harmonization of the legal structure based on the European Community regulations, as well as in coordinating and monitoring the procedural methodology. Government bodies conduct conformity evaluation procedurals, standardization and work safety of entities only under the share of the Ministry of Economy.
Technical requirements standard
Technical Requirement framework in Albania is not an obligatory enforcement System for the private sector, but is based on the self declaration of conformity and products safety. At the border crossings points do not exist special control regulations either the system to support this control.
However the private sector is responsible individually for any breach of technical requirements and standards, which may cause harm of human health and safety, or consumer’s damage, due to their produced or imported goods.

Technical Requirement system in Albania is set up by the Ministry of Economy of Albania.
